Sahradaya Institute of Management Studies bagged the third position in the University Inter-College Soft Tennis Championship held at Calicut University Stadium. In addition, Sharon Thomas, an MBA first-year student, won third place in the men's individual competition. MBA first-year students Sharon Thomas, Viswanath Raj, Akshay PV, Sirin Babu, Precious Deepak and second-year student Jeethu Shaju bagged third place in the group stage. Sharon Thomas has been selected to the Calicut University soft tennis team. Executive Director Dr Jino Johnny Malakaran and Director Dr George AP congratulated the students.
Sifa Zakir, a first-year MBA student won this year's Thrissur Management Association Students' Scholarship. Dhanlaxmi Bank General Manager Mr. Chandran L handed over the award of Rs. 50,000 and the certificate to Ms Sifa. TMA President Shri Vinod Manjila and Dhanlaxmi Bank Deputy General Manager Shri Rajan Sleeba were also present on the occasion. Sifa was selected from various Management College students in Thrissur. This is the fourth year in a row that students at the Sahradaya Institute have achieved the TMA scholarship. Exe. As part of 'Reach out to Campus' initiative of Sahrdaya Institute of Management Studies, Kodakara, Thrissur, 58 final B.Com students of St.Aloysious College, Thrissur visited Sahrdaya Campus along with their teachers Dr.Rajitha, Head of the Department of Commerce and Dr.Libison. The students had a special session on the exclusive 'AIMA BIZLAB', All India Management Association's Business Simulation Software which helps the students to have hand on experience in business decisions in all important functional areas. The students spent 4 hours in the lab and all students successfully completed BIZLAB training. The Aloysius students were really impressed with the Bizlab session, SIMS campus infrastructure, lab facilities, library and moreover the love, courtesy and knowledge sharing they received from the campus.
Dr. Justin Paul, a prominent educationalist and professor at the University of Puerto Rico, USA, inaugurated the international lecture series at Sahrdaya Institute of Management Studies on August 16, 2022 The first topic in the lecture series was on the economic growth of India and China in the global market. Dr Justin pointed out that the world's most populous Asian countries, including India and China, are becoming world economic powers that can control the global market.
AAGAZ' 22 - Bishop Mar Pauly Kannookadan inaugurated the 2022 MBA batch on Sept 1, 2022. Mr Joe Varkkey, Sr. General Manager, Personnel & Administration Division, Malayalam Manorama was the Chief Guest. Manager Msgr. Fr. Joy Paliakkara administered the oath to the new students. The sixth edition of the college newsletter 'Spectrum 2022' was launched during the ceremony. The Chief guest inaugurated the college media cell's new initiative 'Sims Connect' website. Shifa Zakir, a second-year student, was felicitated for this year's scholarship award from the Thrissur Management Association. The chief guest honoured Sharon V. Thomas, a second-year student, who participated in the World Tour International Soft Tennis Championship held in Thailand. Sharon Thomas is the only Malayali among the four who participated in the said competition from India.

As part of the "Gradhan Yojana " scheme, which is the SIMS Library Birthday Book Donation Program, Anjana K of first-year MBA student of the 2022-2024 batch, has donated her own book 'A Secret Family' to the library. She handed over the book to Executive Director Fr. Dr Jino Johny Malakkaran, Director Dr George A.P. and Librarian Mr Mesjer Geo during the assembly. All faculties and students appreciated her work. Anjana has completed a B.ed degree and is now pursuing an MBA at SIMS. She is a voracious reader and a good writer. She completed her debut novel 'A secret family' during the covid period. 'A secret family' is a Malayalam crime novel book which is published by Gaya Publications, Thrissur. The story is about the serial killings that happen in a city and finding the truth behind the same. This crime suspense thriller book will definitely arouse curiosity in readers.
TMA - SIMS Student Chapter 2022 was inaugurated by CA T S Anantharaman, Ex-Chairman Catholic Syrian Bank and Ex-President Thrissur Management Association on 30 September 2022. In his inaugural address, he spoke about the potential of India as a new emerging economic power. TMA Secretary Mr Manoj Kumar delivered the keynote speech. Coordinator Mr Joy Joseph explained the students' chapter activities. Mr George Paul, former executive director of Bharat Petroleum, extended his greetings. Student representatives from various colleges of Thrissur participated in the function.
Anti-Drug campaign " No to Drugs" was organised on Oct 19,2022 at SIMS campus. Mr. Binukumar P. L, Circle Inspector of Excise, Kodugallur, was the chief guest and resource person of the program. The goal of the campaign is to mobilize support and inspire our young generation to act against drug use and to lead a healthy and moral life.

The programme was inaugurated by Ms. Shereena Thomson, National Volleyball Player, Southern Railways. Being a Sports Personality, she addressed the students by giving emphasis on the benefits of sports and exercises for happiness and peace of mind. She added that these can be considered as a mental relaxation exercise during this busy life. She also enlightened that SIMS is one of the best MBA colleges with good records of Placement and surrounded by vast area with a huge play ground where the students can make use of it for walking before commencement of the class hours to gain energy and concentrate more on their studies. She concluded that being a sports person, she didn't have to worry about her admissions and other related aspects of her studies. She reminded the students to make use of every available opportunity for their best life and career- participation is more important than winning. The Sports Day’s events started with the Women’s 100m race at 9.45 A M followed by Men’s 100m race, Long jump, Relay, Shotput, Carroms, Chess, Cricket and Football. The whole event came to an end by 3.45 PM.

He requested all graduates to always contribute something innovative to the society and country in the following speech by him. Mr. Jayas Damodaran, Head of Strategy & Operations, BrowserStack graced the event with his graduation address. He explained the important 3 Cs in business - communication, collaboration, and customer. Dr. Benny Joseph, Chief Executive Officer of Jubilee Mission Medical College & Research Institute, Thrissur delivered the keynote address of the day. He shared his thoughts on the importance of learning and he said we all should keep learning in life and upgrade ourselves nevertheless our current status or position in society. The ceremonial instructions of the graduation day programs were administered by Fr. Dr. Jino Johny Malakkaran, the Executive Director of Sahrdaya Institute of Management Studies, Thrissur. The chief guests awarded the prizes and certificates to the academic toppers and the outstanding achievers of the batch. Monsignor Fr. Joy Paliakkara administered the oath to the graduands.150 students graduated during the ceremony. The program was attended by around 500 persons including the parents, family members, and relatives of the students.

The world is seeking the silver rays of hope as the spread and fear of pandemic has subsided substantially in many parts of the world, particularly in India. As part of international seminar series a session was organised in Sahrdaya Institute of Management Studies on January 11, 2023. Internationally renowned academician Dr Justin Paul led the session. He opinioned the digital era has a long way to go and companies that fail to upgrade technologically will have a tough time. Edutech and Fintech companies will rule the economy in next few years, according to Dr Justin Paul. The students of Sahrdaya Institute of Management Studies discussed the points put forth by Dr.Justin in groups and summed up the session calling for 'upgrade technology or perish'
Sahrdaya Institute of Management Studies organized a national management fest 'Meraki 2023' for undergraduate and postgraduate students. Various competitions were held in the college campus on January 27 and 28,2023 to showcase the management skills of the students. More than 800 students from 50 colleges of Kerala participated in the competitions. Sahrdaya College of Advanced Studies, Kodakara became overall champions.

Bank of Baroda has named Sahrdaya Institute of Management Studies as one of the best educational institutes in the country. The award ceremony was organized on Feb 2,2023 at the SIMS campus. Three second-year MBA students from Sahrdaya Institute have received Bank of Baroda achievement awards in the categories of Best in Academics, Best in Sports, and Best All Rounder, which are given to students from the best colleges in India. Mintu Jose Maliekkal, who excelled in academics, Sharon V Thomas, who competed in international soft tennis ball and a member of the Calicut University team, and Naveen N T, who was selected as an all-rounder, were chosen for the achievers award. Mr. Sanilkumar, Regional Manager of Bank of Baroda Thrissur, presented the students with a cash award of Rs.31000/-. Institute Manager Monsg. Wilson Irathara presided over the function.
