All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) was set up in November 1945 as a national-level apex advisory body to conduct a survey on the facilities available for technical education and to promote development in the country in a coordinated and integrated manner. The Innovation Cell (which works under MHRD) and AICTE have brought out the National Innovation and Startup Policy (NISP) 2019 for students and faculty. This policy adoption will encourage students and faculty to pursue startup and entrepreneurship related activities. The policy prescribed under NISP aims at developing and supporting an entrepreneurial culture in all higher education institutions.
